A reminder

I offer this evening only a gentle reminder: Lent begins in one week.

Don't worry. I'm just as unprepared as you probably are. Which is OK, I guess, given that Lent itself is a time of preparation.

I don't have any idea what I might adopt as my Lenten penance, nor what to take up as a Lenten discipline. (My first penance for the season is playing- last minute- for an Ash Wednesday Mass. I still don't have the music in hand.)

I always try to "give up" something and "add" something. Last year I gave up alcohol. I didn't fail, but I won't be repeating that this year.
