I don't have much to say today. There is too much going on in my personal life to make time to wax poetically like I am occasionally wont to do.
This, however... this. I had to comment. Briefly, but comment.
I am absolutely disgusted, appalled, and sickened by this. This famous priest with millions of followers... posts this today.
Sickened doesn't begin to describe.

Just when I thought his blog couldn't drift away any further from the Catholicism that I learned in RCIA, the faith that drew me to the Church... he goes and posts something like this.
I think it's time to shake my head and walk away.
There's always the Quakers.

DeleteWow, so killing the wrongdoer can actually hasten their conversion. Who would've known? Better start expanding capital punishment to all sorts of crimes then, according to that logic. Its hard to take that website seriously. That guy lives in a bubble. His Bishop should assign him to a poor urban parish with no funds for a new biretta...and then maybe we'll start to get reflections on the Gospel.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you Thom. I get deeply discouraged by this nonesense. I give thanks for Dorothy Day and countless others of her mold who go to the Eucharist and turn around to help those in need - end of story. That is the Church I will never leave.
